Properties of Merit™ Privacy Statement

Properties of Merit™ (POM) is committed to protecting our customers’ privacy. We only ask for information necessary to conduct business in an efficient manner or to provide you with a more personalized experience on our web site. We will not share any of your information with any third parties outside our company without your clear prior consent.

POM Confidentiality

We consider Personal Information to be all that information which can be used to locate you, contact you, or determine your specific identity. When other information is linked to Personal Information, it also becomes Personal Information.

All personal information, such as your name, postal and e-mail address or telephone number, is considered private and confidential. This personal information is stored in a secure location, is accessible only by designated staff, and is used only for the purposes that you have given us permission for when the information is collected.

POM Collection of Information

There are various methods by which we collect user information. This information is all protected by the POM privacy policy and will not be released to any third party without prior consent from the client.

When you use the services of POM, we require basic personal information which may include your name, company, address, email address, phone and fax. We use this information to process services and to contact you if there are questions.

We collect the appropriate billing information, which includes but is not limited to your credit card number, expiration date, and billing address. We use this information for billing purposes and to process your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

Non-Disclosure of Personal Information

We will not reveal your personal information to unaffiliated third parties without your prior consent. If we seek your consent to disclose your information to a third party, we will do so unambiguously, explaining precisely what information we seek to disclose, the entity to whom we wish to disclose it, and the purpose for the disclosure.

We may employ other companies to perform functions like, but not limited to, processing credit card payments, or other functions necessary to our business. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our web site.

Log Files

As is true of most web site, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.

Changing or Removing Information

Since general tracking information is anonymous, we have no way to locate this information obtained by your use of the web site. In addition, this information is often aggregated and therefore we cannot remove the information obtained from you or as a result of your usage of the web site or service.

We employ reasonable and current security methods to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure correct use of information.

No data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be secure. As a result, while we try to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
