Below is a general calendar of activities for all Properties of Merit™ programs.
Please check the calendar in your community for specific dates for activities.

January, February, March and April

  • POM Awards Program - Organizing new Properties of Merit™ Awards Programs in expansion communities. Confirming volunteers for all existing Awards Programs. Finalizing Awards Reception dates and locations for all new and existing awards programs. Confirming all corporate, foundation and government underwriters for regional Properties of Merit™ Awards Programs.
  • POM Service Corps - Meeting with community leaders to choose what areas will be cleaned and where trees and/or perennials will be planted in the upcoming year. Creating POM Service Corps calendar of cleanups for community with cleanups planned for alternating or weekly Saturday cleanups. Confirming the community organizations who will be POM Service Corps partners. Finalizing all corporate and government underwriters for regional Properties of Merit™ Service Corps Programs.
  • POM Construction Companies - Completing one year and continuing two, three and four year construction and improvement projects for the school year.

May and June

  • POM Awards Program - Evaluating and choosing all POM Finalists by POM Nominating Captains. POM Balloting Chair confirms all POM ballot box locations. POM Reception Chair finals local community sponsors for POM awards programs. Finalizing all corporate, foundation and government underwriters for regional Properties of Merit™ Awards Programs.
  • POM Service Corps - Working from POM Service Corps calendar of cleanups for community, completing planned Saturday cleanups.
  • POM Construction Companies - Interview for CEO and other leadership positions.

July, August and September

  • POM Awards Program - Community members, families, friends, customers and others vote for their favorite POM Finalist in their community for Properties of Merit™ People's Choice Awards. Awards Reception Chair finalizes POM Awards Reception.
  • POM Service Corps - Working from POM Service Corps calendar of cleanups for community, continued planned Saturday cleanups. Begin preparing tree wells and beds for Fall tree and perennial plantings.
  • POM Construction Companies - Schools on summer break -- no activity.

September, October and November

  • POM Awards Program - POM Balloting Chair coordinates counting of all ballots for People's Choice Awards. POM Nominating Chair facilitates the selection of Special Awards - Grand Prize, Founder's Choice, and other awards with POM Leadership team. POM Reception Chair finalizes and executes POM Awards Receptions -- all volunteers and underwriters from all POM Programs running in that community honored including POM Awards, POM Service Corps and POM Construction Companies.
  • POM Service Corps - Finalize all Saturday cleanups and begin planting of trees and perennials in prepared and designated areas.
  • POM Construction Companies - Ramp up of new school year Construction Company and leaders. Meetings every two weeks rotating through school schedule alternating working and formal meetings. Begin planned projects for that school year and continue with two year, three year and four year projects.

December and January

  • POM Awards Program – POM Awards Team Leaders meet to plan next years awards program. Confirming all corporate, foundation and government underwriters for regional Properties of Merit™ Awards Programs.
  • POM Service Corps - POM Service Corps Team meet with community leaders and potential partners
